Beast of Burden (2018)
Plot Summary
Sean Haggerty (Daniel Radcliffe) is a former Air Force pilot turned drug mule, flying small planes across the U.S.–Mexico border for a cartel. He’s promised this is his last job, and he’s racing against time to complete the delivery, avoid DEA agents, and save his sick wife, all while making life-or-death decisions from the cockpit.
The film unfolds in near real-time, with much of it set inside the confines of his small aircraft, heightening tension as Sean juggles phone calls with his handler, cartel bosses, and his wife — all while flying a dangerous route.
Final Verdict
Beast of Burden tries to soar with its confined setting and moral complexity, but weak writing and sluggish pacing keep it grounded. Daniel Radcliffe gives it his all, but even he can’t lift this one much higher than mid-altitude.
